Aitken Spence Travels is an IATA approved travel agency since 1972 and have been in business for over 40 years. The company is the GSA for Rail Europe and Tradewinds as well as the Sri Lanka representative for Carlson Wagonlit Travel, a global travel management company servicing its clients in multinational Corporations and Organizations.

Aitken Spence Travels was also appointed the Tourism Promotion Center in Sri Lanka for the Guangdong province since 2015 enabling our valued clients to obtain business or leisure travel services to visit China or the Canton Trade Fair.

The company has built a reputation for serving clients to plan their Holy land trips, Damabadiva pilgrimages and exciting holiday packages to America, Europe or any part of Asia.

We are currently expanding our services and require result oriented, highly motivated and dynamic individuals to be a part of our team in the following capacities.

Manager (Outbound)

The ideal candidate should possess GCE (A/L) qualification and a Diploma in IATA Travel & Tourism from a reputed institute. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the airline industry/outbound tours, preferably in an IATA accredited company, is essential to perform this role. Excellent analytical, PR, communication and interpersonal skills, excellent command of English, ability to manage & work with a team and ability to work long and irregular hours under pressure are key competencies sought. Applicants should have a flair for sales, product and industry knowledge in GDS (preferably Amadeus). Candidates between 35 – 40 years of age are preferred.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of the division and achieving divisional targets.

Executive (Outbound)

The ideal candidates should be below 30 years of age and possess GCE (A/L) qualification. A part or full professional qualification in IATA Travel & Tourism is preferred. A minimum of 2 –3 years’ experience in a similar capacity is essential to perform this role. Flair for sales will be an added qualification, relevant product and industry knowledge, excellent analytical, PR, communication and interpersonal skills, excellent command of English, ability to work long and irregular hours under pressure when required, willingness to travel overseas on job assignments and ability to work within a team are key competencies sought.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Servicing Direct/corporate clients
  • Maintaining existing client base while securing new clients
  • Achieving specified sales and profit targets monthly
  • Attending to all e-mail inquiries within the stipulated time frame
  • Follow up on the inquiries to materialize in to business
